Editor John Seymour affirms: ‘This at least I can vouch for, that the majority of the stories were sent to me as first or second-hand experiences by ladies and gentlemen whose statement on an ordinary matter of fact would be accepted without question.’

In compiling the book, newspaper readers throughout Ireland were invited to submit their recorded incidences of unusual happenings. The result is a delightful collection of tingling tales of poltergeists, supernaturual experiences, haunted houses, death warnings and bashees - tales not of the imaginary but the faithful recounting of people’s actual experiences.
